I understand “where the money is” online. I typically work with either web start-up’s who have no revenue streams to help monetise their business or media owners struggling to migrate their traditional revenues online, whilst protecting their offline revenues at the same time. There is a way and I love finding it!
Strategy
I provide a strategic analysis of a company’s online interests with full appraisal and recommendations for those businesses that require a deeper understanding of “where they are at” and “how they can improve”.
I help develop detailed business plans and strategic operational reports that provide clear direction and focus.
Under this remit I am often tasked with defining marketing and sales plans.
Online monitoring: One of the most overlooked facets within businesses today is online monitoring and the importance it has to a company.
The web has changed how information is shared and has forced transparency upon us.
It is fundamental that businesses understand what others are saying about them, when and where.
A blogger or customer leaving negative feedback on a review site, forum or blog can ruin a reputation and significantly damage a brand that has taken many years to build.
Having visibility on what information is freely accessible and what others are saying about your business is much overlooked.
I monitor conversations going on across the web about my clients and their competitors. This information is hugely helpful in enabling companies to formulate their PR activity in the right areas and manage their reputations properly.
The data provided can be used to understand who is talking about you and you’re competition, hijack competitor stories, engage openly with your customers, better manage your reputation and target relevant press contacts that are covering your industry.
If people are talking about your company, you need to know about it.
In addition, I identify what information on my clients’ business is publicly available enabling them to update or seek removal.
New technologies & social media
I’m not a geek, but I do love the web and have an obsession about keeping track with new technologies and where the web is heading.
This insight will provide a huge advantage to your business, enabling you to make the right product development decisions. I love to brainstorm with clients and help companies develop best in class technology & features that ensure my clients position themselves at the front of innovation.
I have seen web businesses develop long lists of new product features that have no underlying value because they are “cool to have”. I bring a tangible perspective to the table and help clients prioritise the features that will positively affect their business and objectives.
Social media is the “buzz” word right now but let’s get one thing clear. The web IS social media.
I bring clarity on social media to my clients and enable them to understand what features would benefit their business and what features will have no tangible value to revenue, traffic or adoption.
PR & Marketing
PR is difficult and I bring a sense of perspective to the way I work.
I talk from experience having managed 4 web businesses and failing multiple times to get positive results from PR before I understood what it takes to achieve good PR coverage.
